Program Overview

Robert R. Moton Early Childhood Center was established in 2005 as Hampton City Schools' premier early childhood education program. The Center houses 12 Pre-Kindergarten classes and two Pre-Kindergarten special education classes. The Center offers a full-day education program for 4 year-olds.

  • Entrance to Program determined by Eligibility Process

  • Full-Day Program 8:00 a.m. - 2:55 p.m.

  • Transportation Provided with Bus Attendant on Each Bus

  • Class Size Capped at 20 Students

  • Qualified Instruction Staff

  • Certified Teachers in Early Childhood Education

  • Instructional Assistant in Each Classroom

  • Qualified Support Staff

  • Age-Appropriate Library and Qualified Library Media Specialist

  • School Nurse

  • Follows Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning

Robert R. Moton Early Childhood Center has won numerous awards for environmental education from the City of Hampton and the Hampton City Clean Commission.
